Mounjaro progress photos: tracking tirzepatide progress

By David Pintarič, maker of ProgressLens · Updated October 29, 2026

Tirzepatide can cause substantial weight loss. A consistent photo record shows what that looks like on you.

Short answer

Take front, side and back photos weekly on your tirzepatide injection day, before breakfast, and log bodyweight and waist. Compare four weeks apart and measure arms and thighs monthly to keep an eye on muscle as well as fat.

Routine

Same as for semaglutide: a weekly morning check-in with photos, weight and waist. Dose increases are usually scheduled every few weeks; a note on the check-in makes later comparisons easier to read.

Protecting muscle

In SURMOUNT-1, a body composition substudy found roughly three parts fat to one part lean mass lost on tirzepatide. Clinicians often recommend protein and strength training; arm and thigh measurements with photos show whether you’re keeping shape as you lose weight.
